Review: First Comprehensive Survey of Medieval Estonian Visual Culture

Marek Tamm is a Professor of Cultural History at the School of
Humanities in Tallinn University. He is a member of the Estonian Academy
of Sciences. He is also the Head of Tallinn University Centre of Excellence
in Intercultural Studies and of Estonian Doctoral School of Arts and Humanities.

He graduated in history and semiotics at the University
of Tartu (1998), and he earned his master's degree in medieval studies from
the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris (1999) and
his doctoral degree in medieval history from Tallinn University
(2009). Author of five books, over a hundred scholarly articles, and editor of twenty collections
of articles.
