Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Contributions should be submitted electronically, by e-mail (to Roland Karo, Editor-in-Chief, or Helen Haas, Managing Editor. The preferred format is MS Word .doc or .rtf. For rarer fonts and characters, it is recommended to attach a PDF file with a printout. Contributions must be accompanied by the author's contact details. The recommended length of articles is 40 000 - 60 000 characters (including spaces and footnotes and bibliography).

Usuteaduslik Ajakiri follows the Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) author-date citation system. 

Citations and punctuation: follow the rules of the language the article is written in.

It is recommended to use a reference manager (e.g. Zotero or Word Reference Manager) to format references.
