Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Before submitting, authors should ensure that their contribution falls within the scope of the Juridica International.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or OpenOffice document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • The amount of the text of the paper is between 30,000 and 38,000 characters (notes and spaces included).

Author Guidelines

Submission Process

Please submit 3 separate files:

1) An Abstract with the Title of the Article (max 1500 characters, spaces included) that includes

  • The main question or problem which is dealt within the paper
  • The main argument or conclusion of the paper
  • Main sources of research in overview

2) The Text of Research Paper in Microsoft Word, RTF, or OpenOffice document file format.

3) The List of References that includes all the works cited or referred to in the text. Works not referred to should not be included

Keywords (4−7) are also obligatory.

 

Author Guidelines

  • The manuscript should be in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format. Figures should be submitted in separate files.
  • The submission of a manuscript should be accompanied by an accurate indication of the author's affiliation, e-mail and full postal address.
  • The authors should bear in mind that Juridica International targets an international audience, so excessive use of jargon specific to a particular approach or field of law should be avoided.
  • All articles will be subject to linguistic review, and edited articles will be made available to you for approval.
  1. Text
  • No special formatting should be used. Use a plain text font and use tab stops or ruler function for indents (not the space bar). Do not use field functions or special styles.
  • Articles should be subdivided, where appropriate. All titles are lowercase.
  • Italics should be used for emphasis (not underline or bold).
  • Foreign words should be italicized (instead of underline or bold), for example et al., idem, ibidem.
  • All notes and comments should appear as footnotes.
  • Acknowledgements to individuals and grants should be provided after the text of article. The names of organisations involved should appear in full.
  • Transliteration of cyrillic words, titles of books and journals etc. should follow the transliteration table:

  1. Tables and figures
  • All tables and figures should be accompanied by captions and submitted as separate files.

Tables are formatted using the text editor’s table function. Tables are not inserted as images and must not be formatted using the space bar or the tab key.

  • The location of the tables and figures should be indicated in the text, for instance:

[…] according to Peirce’s triadic sign model (Fig. 1).

  • The author is responsible for acquiring the publishing rights for figures or artwork that are not their own.

 

  1. Citations
  • All quotations should follow the original exactly. Omissions should be indicated by [...].

Author’s interpolations should be enclosed in square brackets: [ ] (not / /).

 

  1. References
  • The List of References should include all the works and legal sources cited or referred to in the text. Works not referred to should not be included.
  • References to web-pages should be avoided. If absolutely necessary, these should appear in notes.
  • References to conference papers and other oral presentations should be avoided. If absolutely necessary, they should appear in notes.
  • Self-references to the author of the manuscript should not exceed 15% of the whole reference list.
  • The Bibliography should be alphabetic, legal sources and gourt cases chronologically.
  • Sources in alphabets other than the Latin alphabet (e.g. Cyrillic) should be supplied by a transliteration.
