Call for papers

We are inviting submissions for the free issue of Estonian Journal of Education (Eesti Haridusteaduste Ajakiri), Vol. 14, No. 2, which is scheduled to be published in November 2026. The editors of the free issue are Associate Professor of Andragogy Larissa Jõgi from Tallinn University and Lecturer in Educational Research Gerli Silm from the University of Tartu.

The authors are expected to submit high-quality research papers in the field of education and related areas. Contributions will be selected on the basis of topic and abstract (see timetable). Submission of a manuscript implies that the paper has not been submitted to or published in any other journal. Manuscripts are evaluated anonymously by at least two reviewers, usually one from Estonia and one from abroad.

The deadlines for the publication are as follows:

  1. Author(s) will send the topic of the article(s) accompanied by the abstract in Estonian to Larissa Jõgi (larissa.jogi@tlu.ee). The abstract of no more than 200 words should summarize the theory of research, the objective(s), the methodology as well as the (expected) outcomes of the study – 15 September 2025 at the latest.
  2. The editors send confirmation about the acceptance of the manuscripts to the corresponding authors – 29 September 2025.
  3. The authors will submit properly formatted manuscripts with a summary in English – 15 January 2026.
  4. The editors will inform the authors about the review results – 26 February 2026.
  5. The authors will consider the reviewers’ comments and submit the revised manuscripts – 25 March 2026.
  6. Second revision of the manuscripts (if necessary), the editors will inform the authors about the second review results – 22 April 2026.
  7. The authors will consider the comments in the second-round review and submit the final manuscripts – 13 May 2026.
  8. Language editing of the manuscripts – May–June and August 2026.
  9. Lay-out of the journal at University of Tartu Press – September–October 2026.
  10. Date of final publication – 1 November 2026.

The journal uses Open Journal Systems (OJS) and will be published in collaboration with the University of Tartu and Tallinn University by the University of Tartu Press. The journal is indexed in the database EBSCO Academic Search Complete and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and Google Scholar.
