Eesti Haridusteaduste Ajakirja 2016. aasta esimesse numbrisse valitud artiklitel on vähe ühist nii teema kui ka metoodika mõttes, kuid artiklid paistavad silma meetodite rohkuse ning sellest tuleneva metodoloogilise pluralismi ja käsitluste heterogeensuse poolest. Metodoloogilist pluralismi, mis kajastub Eesti Haridusteaduste Ajakirja seekordsetes artiklites, tuleks vaadelda kui Eesti haridusuuringute tugevust ja potentsiaali, sest valdkond saab tõeliselt areneda vaid metodoloogiliste piiride uurimise ning uute vaatenurkade avastamise kaudu. Metodoloogiline pluralism toob kaasa erinevate vaadete ja kontseptsioonide konkurentsi ning võimaluse ületada olemasolevaid piire. Kõnealused artiklid ongi tõestuseks selle kohta, et Eesti haridusuuringud on mitmekesised nii kontseptsioonide, kontekstide kui ka metodoloogiliste käsitlusviiside poolest, heites valgust küll piiratud, kuid sellegipoolest olulisele küsimusele reaalsuse kohta, mida haridusteadlased püüavad mõista.
